Apco P-25 Question: 1 Or 2 ?

Hello,

When I look at the various Databases, I see "APCO P-25"

How do I determine if they are Apco P-25 1 or Apco P-25 2 ?

It's quite simple. Look at the system type. Here is my home county

Prince George's County Trunking System, Various, Maryland

Now here is an example of a phase 1 system

Now here is where things can get a bit hazy. If the system type is 2, but the talkgroup listings show some of the modes as 'D' this means that some of the TGs are running in Phase 1 mode. This can happen, for example, if the system is migrating from phase 1 to 2. This is no problem for a phase 2 scanner but anything old scanner that covers phase 1 only pretty much can't be upgraded (the PSR800 is an exception).
