Hello,
I have a questions about P25 trucking Phase 1 to Phase 2 system upgrade.

Do I have to reprogram my pager (unication G4/5) or Harris radio when my state upgrades to Phase 2?
Wil I have to enter a different System ID/WACN and or Frequencies/TG?

Thanks,

Andrew

Since you don't share any info on your system it is hard to give you a definite answer, but generally no you will not need to do anything. I'm sure if there are changes they will be in the database once the change is made.

Are they migrating to a different system with different frequencies? Welcome to the RR forums, specific info goes a long way to help us help you

Ok sorry. Indiana SAFE T P25 Phase 1 to Phase 2 in the future. No changes that I know of to any TG frequencies. Just Upgrade the system.

Ok sorry. No changes to TG/frequencies that I know of just upgrade the Indiana SAFE T system to Phase 2 in the future if I would need to change anything in my scanner/pager/radios to receive Phase 2 traffic.

What model scanner? They don't all receive Phase-II/TDMA you know. Since Safe-T is Phase-I as it exists today then yes you'd need to delete the system from your scanner and re-add it when it transitions to Phase-II so both timeslots can be monitored per frequency

Huh? When agencies around me went TDMA I didn't have to do anything, in fact some TG's switch between FDMA and TDMA depending on what radio is affiliated to that TG (known as DDM) and it's seamless to me. Or am I missing something?

Nope, you're not missing anything.
Well why is it then that Uniden discriminates trunking modes when programming a system? (P25 Trunk vs X2 TDMA). Does a Phase-II system with TDMA talkgroups NOT have to be programmed as X2 TDMA to not miss traffic on both timeslots? I had given the answer thinking the OP had a scanner in addition to the G5 which is why I asked what model scanner. I can't speak for how the G5 operates since I don't have one

@KevinC: Did said agencies around you formerly reside on a Phase-I system that later went Phase-II? OP's system is listed in the RRDB as Phase-I as it is today

NC SW Viper system is currently testing P2 on a limited basis on the Phase 1 system and I hear both fine on my TRX
