OP is talking about programming it with a PC/IF cable. That probably means scanner is a WS1040 or WS1065. If that is the case, he can use Butel ARC500 or PSREdit500 software to download from the database. ARC500 Basic is all you need to program the scanner. The Pro version provides logging. The Fargo site on the trunked system is simulcast which may cause missed transmissions and garbled audio depending upon your location. I have the WS1040 and I use ARC500 Pro by Butel. You can then use that to import from Radioreference with subscription. Yes, it's a lot easier than doing it by hand.
