APX Flashcode question

This is true, but there’s more than one way to skin a cat. Even E-Bay sellers are offering “solutions” to the OP’s request.

Are these flashes just getting put in the radio or are they getting iButtons and new stickers from Moto. I suspect its the former as we have not been able to order flashes forever for our 7000/7500 fleet, yet somehow some others I know take a radio to a shop and it magically comes back with more features than they actually ordered without new proper flashcode stickers.

dealers can't get flashes for EOL radios anymore so those flashes either were already produced or they're being done illegitimately.

If you are a big enough, politically-powerful customer, like MARCS doing their LLA rollout, Moto will sometimes make special exceptions and sell you upgrades to EOL radios (even for XTL).

A random dealer? Unlikely.

As for service contracts, you can check the serial number lookup tool in CustomerHub to see whether your radio is under any sort of special service plan still. But in general, if it were, you (or your contracted radio shop) would know it, since it would have been specially negotiated with Moto.

Correct. They gave Ohio MARCS customers one year from the start of the LLA project to get their XTS/XTL radios flashed for LLA. After that date, too bad, so sad. I was told by our Moto rep that it was a very rare special accommodation.

Even though I sent out numerous and frequent emails to my customers, I still had a couple who dragged their feet and ended up with a pile of useless XTS/XTL radios, thus having to buy all new radios. They weren't happy, and at the county chiefs meeting yelled at me as if it was my fault; I waved a large sheaf of email printouts at them and told them "I told you, but you didn't listen." The other chiefs giggled knowingly behind their hands.

Fortunately, I'm retired and don't have to put up with crap like that anymore.

We have had 30 flashed for TDMA, they all have the IVE BEEN FLASHED sticker. No idea, they were sent to Motorola to my knowledge.
