Hi,
We have a couple of APX4500 Motorola mobiles and one of them is working fine, but the other doesn't seem to start up properly.
During startup, there is no "APX 4500" banner and then the display is all white. The zone up/down look like they still work and I could get to a channel that would transmit, without channel grant beeps so presume it was one of the conventional ones. It just looks like the font is white - as bizarre as that sounds.
The other mobile just required powering up, and they are programmed nearly identical. All I had to do with the other one was power on and it registers successfully.
I initially suspected the ignition line but have swapped the power cables and the unit behaves the same. When the ignition line is not powered, the unit does not show 3 LED lights during startup.
I've also played with the brightness buttons and the screen dims, but is still blank. Is it possible that its inhibited.
Just wondering if this is a known issue anyone else has come across or we're looking at a dud unit ?
Thanks,
Snowmoose
