Arc XT Preparation?

Hello.. I have this software coming along with the BCD396XT.. Is there anything I need to do on the computer to prepare for the use of this? Thanks...

Do you have a USB-serial converter ready and loaded? Unless you're using an older PC, that's the way you need to make the connection between the PC and scanner.

Fortunately many off the shelf versions exist that seem to work fine. We have a small list (nowhere near complete) of them, and instructions on using Device Manager to help when drivers are loaded here (all links are in blue)

He might have bought the USB-1 from Uniden, in which case he needs to D/L the driver before installing it.

Would you believe my USB-1 does NOT show up in the device manager? (at least on this WIN XP computer) It does on other computers but not on this one. I can still use it on here, but I have to know what port it is and that is a matter of trying each one that shows up till it works.

Thank You.. Yes, I also purchased the USB-1 cable and have already downloaded a driver for Vista from the Scannermaster website
