Broadcastify Calls archives are only stored for 30 days.Would someone on channel 12300 Starke county law trac have the archives on February 8th at or 8-10 pm? I desperately need it. It was from 2 months ago. How can I get it? Please help me
I do that all the time for work. Nothing strange about it at all.Strange it took you over half a year to realize you "desperately needed" a piece of audioWelcome to the forums!
Surely if the OP needed it for work there'd likely be more official avenues to go through than a hobbyist site? Just sayingI do that all the time for work. Nothing strange about it at all.
Surely official means/avenues take time. Time that I don't have. Easier to log into a site and get it for myself.Surely if the OP needed it for work there'd likely be more official avenues to go through than a hobbyist site? Just saying
I’ll check this website you mentioned. Helping a family member that is representing himself and really needs 2 hour window of archives to prove his innocence. Much appreciated! Struggling with local authority. How do I find the feed cal provider for Starke county law trac archives from February? Any help would be greatly appreciated.Have you tried to see of it's on OpenMhz.com ?
Also, if you can put a state in such requests, that helps a lot....Are you looking for Indiana, or misspell one of the many Stark Counties around the US..
You could send a message to the feed/calls providers in the area to see if they have their own recordings..
Otherwise make a records request through the county. If it's a recorded channel (they may not record their non-dispatch channels) and it's within their retention schedule (that could be a little as 30 days, but you'll have to check with your local agency), they should be able to provide it, with any CJIS data redacted.
You would be very surprised at the use cases of the archives.Strange it took you over half a year to realize you "desperately needed" a piece of audioWelcome to the forums!
I figured it was bad, but I didn't think it would be that bad.Over the next few months I literally got over 100 support tickets from people all over asking for free archives
If it's for legal action, definitely file a records request with the agency. That will also verify the authenticity of the source.I’ll check this website you mentioned. As far as people wanting free access, a premium subscription is not priced out of line. If you're not willing to pony up $15 to get access to the archives for a couple of months, then it must not be that important. You might be charged more than that requesting records directly from an agency (most states allow them to recoup expenses for fulfilling the request, such as staff time and materials used). You would be very surprised at the use cases of the archives.
I work support tickets every day for people who want archives from well over a year ago, up and to 5-10 years ago and are upset that we don't have them.
Broadcastify is so ubiquitous in many people's lives that they literally think that we have everything broadcasted since the beginning of time and don't understand why we don't. I'm not kidding.
I've had people who have gotten lawyers involved when I tell them the archives they requested for something that happened 400 days ago are no longer available. They want to speak to the manager (I am the manager). They say I need to go and recover them from our servers (that's impossible). They say they are going to file subpoenas with our storage providers (ok, go do that).
And don't get me started on the latest trend of people who want us to provide archives for free because "I just need one archive." A few months ago someone on reddit complained that they needed just one archive because of a family tragedy to put their mind at ease about something and I told them to contact me to discuss and I would see what I could do. Over the next few months I literally got over 100 support tickets from people all over asking for free archives because of everything from loved ones dying in accidents, to family suicides, to house fires, to "my dad got arrested" to "I got pulled over" to you name it. So I had to put a complete stop to the whole thing because it just unleashed a torrent of requests for free stuff.
