It's been a couple of years when I was told this, but I was told by a MSP radio tech that the MDT's are not on the MSPSC system. No idea what system it is on. I do know that some of Downriver's cities used to, and may still "lease slots" on Dearborn's MDT system. (that's the term that was told to me).
I've never heard anyone say anything about MSP being on Dearborn's system.

Last I knew they were using Sprint Aircards.

That's possible. If I remember right, I don't think the MSP tech I talked to knew exactly how that worked. I'm going to see him this month at a meeting. I'll ask him what all he knows.

Most everyone is using the CLEMIS system. Not the Open Sky, but the digital software CLEMIS for their MDC(Mobile Data Computers) MDT went out in the early 90's!

All the MDCs I've seen use a commercial cell carrier. If I remember right, MDTs used county towers.

Call them whatever you want, I'll do the same.

I consider them to be different.
