ARINC & Airline Company freqs.

I was heavy into aviation monitoring for quite a while now, however I am tired of listening to vectors, climbs & decents so now I am going to just monitor the aformentioned frequencies as they run the spectrum from being quite entertaining & amusing to downright terrifying at times, I am quite sure that you have overheard conversations about serious situations with an aircraft that would make you swear off flying forever. Just wanted to know if there was anybody out there like myself that could maybe start posting such transmissions, I am not looking to get crazy with posting like it's a job, just want to enjoy myself.

I wonder if such postings might draw the wrong kind of attention to the hobby. Airlines are private companies and might not take kindly to on-the-record dissemination of their internal communications. Remember the Communications Act. Airlines and other private entities (as opposed to government services) might have a genuine interest in seeing it enforced.

various activity heard

I have heard several medical situations here in the pacific northwest. But only hearing one side takes some of the interest out.

Your probably right Dave, I don't need that hassle in this post 9/11 paranoia, I'll just monitor those frequencies & keep what I hear to myself, Thanks for the heads up.

The frequencies are public knowledge. The conversations on those frequencies are not. Read up.

Not sure if this helps. It is what the flight crews have.

Edit: I also have the HF charts for ARINC, Houston Radio, Stockholm Radio, etc.

Longest VHF aviation rx (which is what the thread was about originally): about 200 miles in ACARS mode.

Longest HF rx: NNN0ICE on 13.995 USB (Navy MARS station in Antarctica) from Rochester, NY.
