arkansas state police help

I am trying to listen to Arkansas State police Troop C and D but am not having any luck at all
I have programmed in the (red) control channels for these areas even tried them all to no avail
distance is not an issue I am travelling within site of some of the towers ie memphis to paragould
arkansas and memphis to blytheville ark. there is nothing not even a broken signal or static.
I am familiar with programming my 396T and have had good luck with it. but I cannot get it
to do anything with this system.
someone give me some advice on this so I can monitor these areas.
equipment is uniden 396t with the 800 mhz antenna from radioshack, software is ARC

I am just missing something in doing this and cant figure it out.
should I be programming it with the 800mhz or the Apco 25 it dosent make any difference with the
memphis channels.

You must use the APCO 25 Standard when programming AWIN. The Arkansas Wireless Information Network (AWIN) System.

Yes I have tried using the Apco25 setup still no activity, I have tried
them all, used all of the talkgroups even made a system with almost
everything in it still not a sound programed it and drove withing a mile
of the Shell Lake tower in crittenden co ark still nothing. I know I am doing
something wrong just can find it.

Someone let me know what control channels they are using for Arkansas Troop C, D

I do have the jonesboro city programmed and it works fine
Just no ASP at all.

Is your scanner set for ID serach and not ID Scan?

I have tried it both ways with no activity, I will try again tonight
to see if I can get anything, I am doing it the same way I did my
memphis systems, the jonesboro city system but I just get nothing
from the state police, I am in memphis in the downtown area close to
the river and I know I will probably not get them there except for a skip
or something but I am traveling in both the C and D troop area
just dont get it like I said I am just missing something small that is
causing it not to work
If I had a known control channel and a known talk group to test then
I would know it works.

It's interesting to hear your delima; I was traveling in the same area a few weekends ago. Going across 14 from Harrisburg to Marked Tree and then down to Marion-West Memphis. Once I got to Marked Tree I wasn't able to get much. I picked up Burdette for a while but I could not get Shell Lake, or Lake City. In fact I was not able to get the 396 to lock onto the control channel for Shell Lake. I though I might have just locked them out o rhad them entered wrong. Anyway I am going to take a look at my set up. I have a trip this week back to the area and I will try again.
