This may not be new, but noted some new Arkansas State Police Licenses activated this month by FCC. Specifically, in Independence County (Batesville) a license has been issued WQBZ932 active 1/13/2005 and noted as YF public safety Ntl' Plan 821-824/866-869 MHz-Trunked. This must be part of the new ASP radio system in the works. Noted active licenses also for Cleburene (Heber Springs), White (Searcy), Lawrence (Walnut Ridge) counties. These are all in Troop B (Newport). Jackson County did not reflect a license at this time nor did counities in Troop C (Jonesboro). Looks like the system will be 800 MHz and not 700 MHz. Now the question is encryption or not. Tough break if it goes encrypted, I am holding off that scanner purchase for a while.
