I am planning a trip to the twin cities area and Duluth. I have a uniden 396t and not sure what towers to program or what agencies are up and running. Anyone have any suggestions??

Thanks

I'm almost positive there is nothing up in Duluth yet for ARMER. Everything there is mainly VHF and some UHF.

Mitch is right, there aren't any towers running up in the Duluth area so anything you get up there is essentially limitted to conventional scanning primarily in the UHF range.

What are you interested in listening to in the Metro when you come up? Perhaps someone here is willing to e-mail you a copy of their .uasd file to make your programming a little easier.

The majority of ARMER users are in the Metro and the database here is very up to date so that will be a great reference for you.

There is no ARMER activity north of Isanti. To sum up the metro, all of the west metro is on the system and much of the east metro is still conventional. I could send you my files if that is desired.

Matt, what UHF stuff is there up there? all of duluth public safety is VHF and pretty much anything up there is VHF according to everything i know about there. Marine is also VHF and this is moderately busy up there.

I'm just leaving the door open for possible UHF traffic :) I figured there may be some LMR systems or some such active in the area...
