He was on 123.000. Now here's the catch he specifically said MILLVILE AIRPORT. Millville is i n Cumberland County. Are there military aircraft at Millville airport?

What exactly did you hear? The pilot giving position/intention reports on the CTAF or something else? Any idea what kind of aircraft?

If there are no military units there then there are lots of other reasons you might hear military aircraft at a ciivilian airport.

He was landing at a runway. No idea on the type of aircraft, was hoping for a callsign, but he just ARMY 77 which was a bit confusing. I've never heard that type of traffic before. Kind of hoping one of the mil-air guys would pop on

Army helicopters do test flights in and out of Millville airport constantly. They usually I.D. themselves simply by '' Army helicopter'' on the 123 CRAF frequency . Don't remember hearing a number with it before. I am about 8 miles north west of the airport. They usually fly out this way then return to Millville giving there flight level and intentions as the fly. They use to install night vision equipment at Millville on these choppers but I thought that ended last year. Didn't stop the daily test flights though.

If you watch adsbexchange.com, you will sometimes see Army Blackhawks or Lakotas flying around South Jersey. You can also hear them working KACY Approach into and out of the area.

Military helos routinely stop at local airports to refuel. They are in and out of Monmouth Exec Airport in Wall Twp almost daily.

Why? 123.0 is the CTAF/unicom frequency for Millville airport (and many other uncontrolled airports around the country). It's not an Army helicopter frequency. If they flew to your area you would hear them on your local airport frequencies.

Yeah, you are correct. I just realized that myself. In fact, here in my area, 123.000 is the main frequency used by Linden Airport.

At my qth - The jersey shore, military air traffic is almost constant. 123.000 is the unicom for Monmouth executive airport,as well. As previously reported, I have also observed blackhawk's here.

Last month one night, I pulled up http://www.adsbexchange,com and noted numerous USCG helos and military aircraft out over south Jersey. I started streaming KACY approach and one of the two UH-60's showing on the map was using the callsign "Rogue 77" with ATC. The two were flying patterns all around South Jersey and eventually headed back towards Dix. That particular night, two of the four USCG helos that were up were using "Zombie ##" callsigns with ATC while they were doing training maneuvers over Stone Harbor.

N2ZGE- Just really quick FYI in the aircraft group[ in my scanners I have 122.7,122.8.122.9,123.00 123.025, 123.05, 123.075.123.1000, 123.4000 and123.4500 in order without alpha tags. At least one of the freqs is active anywhere I go

Yeah, you are correct. I just realized that myself. In fact, here in my area, 123.000 is the main frequency used by Linden Airport.
