My question may be just a google search that I'm not wording correctly, but where are folks able to determine the sector numbers in the database for ARTCC Centers? Most, if not all, of the frequencies I've found to be spot on based off Airnav.com data, but of course they just contain the RCAG location data. For instance, I have the 126.850 listed in my program as ZLC E-Montana as that's the general geographic area, but I have no clue how it was determined to be ZLC Sector 17.

Thank you.

The only official source I've ever been able to find are from the Sector charts provided by the Centers themselves. Some like Boston and New York publish them as NOTAMS. Others have to be requested from the Centers directly, usually requiring an FOIA Request before they will give them up.

I actually obtained the sector operating manual for my area (Denver Center ZDV) through a FOIA request, it's a 412 page .PDF file. I'll see if I can upload it to dropbox and post a link. Anyways I submitted a FOIA request electronically and got the documents after paying a nominal fee. After submitting the request, I did get a call from a FAA FOIA officer asking why I was requesting the documents. I had to convince her I didn't work for a company that was seeking to use the information as part of a paid publication or the like, which would increase the request fees to a commercial rate. She was very confused about why anyone would want to monitor airplane radio traffic or have any interest in said documents, but she ended up charging me the proper rate.

Anyhow it is pretty technical stuff with a LOT of airplane jargon, but it's also quite informative on how a ARTCC operates.

That is a flight simulation website. While they try to be as realistic as possible, there is nothing official or necessarily accurate about their information.
I'm aware. The sites seem to be fairly deep in detail and thought I should point out the list in that thread for further investigation, as it's the only resource I was able to find when I looked.
