Been having this problem while trying to program a talk group that it won’t let me turn off transmiting. Anyone know why?

I too tried on XTS radios to “receive only” on an alerting talk group that isn’t monitored. I had no luck. I had much better luck on APX radios.Been having this problem while trying to program a talk group that it won’t let me turn off transmiting. Anyone know why?

Once again, you're assuming. How about you answer his question if you know the answer or end your rant and let someone provide a legitimate answer. No AUTHORIZED system user should be coming HERE for information on how to program his radio. If he's authorized, the designated radio shop that supports the agency will handle it. Guaranteed. In fact, if he is authorized, he's almost certainly NOT authorized to have it programmed by anybody BUT the authorized radio shop. In most departments that's expressly prohibited and is a firing offense.
I have it and the other "usual suspects" of bogus IDs active in Provisioning Manager and added in RCM to zap lists to get the usual Ebay radio cloner/whackers with no effort, then wait for the "my radio turns on then off" threads to appear. That his shown ID is 0001 is even MORE evidence that he's NOT authorized. That ID is almost NEVER issued to a subscriber radio.
I understand all of that, my point is, like 6 different people jumped down this guy's throat all off of assumptions. Yes, the ID 0001 is a red flag, but without more information about what he is trying to do, it's crazy to me that everyone just goes wild.No AUTHORIZED system user should be coming HERE for information on how to program his radio. That works great for a small system where’s there’s 1conversation going on at a time. But for a large county system, that just won’t work.A foolproof way is to program the conventional frequencies for the tower that covers your area. No worries about the radio po po or ended up with a paperweight
The analysis is complete: your statement is utter nonsense. Again. Where do you come up with this stuff, seriously? The radio only validates the trunking key you used to program system data WHEN THE RADIO TRANSMITS. Properly programmed, it will NEVER transmit, thus the key you used won't be checked against the system.
I leave it to you to analyze that statement.
I'm not a moderator, I can't delete posts, nor would I. You're a big boy, you've been a member here for 22 years. You know that the mods don't delete posts unless there is a really good reason to. The fact that you continually post misinformation is not an RR problem, it's a you problem. So please delete it. Rather than go into slap-a-b-mode over it, just delete it since I can't.
I misremembered what I'd learned. Somehow I kind of had the right idea in my head but I didn't write it out at all correctly.
Yeah, I know, the system key is not programmed into the radio. It's in CPS only. So why'd I write it so wrong? If I knew that I'd feel a bit smarter right now. But I don't.
