Astro Spectra CC lock problem

Forgive me if this has been discussed already (I did a search and couldn't find it)--

I have 2 identical Astro Spectras programmed on a digital smartzone system (3600 CC). (obviously not programmed smartzone though)
There are 2 main zone/sites that are usually simulcast on most TGs, plus some fill-in sites
that come up and down as needed. Now, I'm listen-only and have alot of TGs programmed duplicating
for the the 2 main sites, depending on where I'm driving at the time. The problem is, unless
there's activity on the TG I power up on within something like 10 seconds, it won't lock on
the control channel and I have to power cycle the thing until there's activity. In other words,
its fine turning the radio on during the day, but a pain in the butt late at night. I prog'd a
buddy's Astro Saber identically and it didn't have this problem. Any thoughts?

Make sure you tune the radio at an authorized service shop. Sounds to me like it's off frequency. (SERVICE, TX ALIGNMENT, WARP ADJUSTMENT)

The warp adjustment controls both tx and rx frequency. They're synchronized together.

If the radio is off frequency, even by 1.5 KHz, you will be getting too many errors to reliably receive the control channel data, and be missing calls.

I've seen/corrected this problem many times. Let me know if that works for you.

Oh and btw, if you're a hammy with limited equipment, use a frequency counter to measure a KNOWN GOOD radio in the tx warp adjustment service menu, and then align your digital spectra to the same frequency as the KNOWN GOOD RADIO. Not a perfect fix (who says your counter is aligned, or the other radio is on frequency) but it will at least be a good temporary fix.
