I'm trying to figure it out myself. I did some talkgroup scans in the frequencies that are available in the database and came up with two: 33707 and 33751. When I checked out the details though both were labeled encrypted. Knowing there are typically more talkgroups who knows if those are the only two utilized, but may have been the only two emitting in those particular scan windows. REALLY bummed about this, I mean given there is no online retrans (heck HSV and Madison have online broadcasts IIRC), why not flip to Tac or encrypted for sensitive stuff. Also unaware on impacts of interop, but the typical analog has been silent for me since last weekend.
I suspect one of the TGs to be Athens PD Dispatch and the other one to be Limestone SO Dispatch. I agree, those two UHF frequencies have been silent for about a week now.

Unfortunately no, not for Athens or Limestone County. I am hearing more in Madison County when ID searching talk groups.

we’re being told we’re gonna start going live toward the end of summer
Seems like y’all went live since there’s no more UHF traffic from LCSO or APD. Are all the talkgroups encrypted or are there some remaining clear dispatch talkgroups waiting to be setup?

APD, AFR & LCSO are now fully live, as of this past week. EMS & County Fire have not yet swapped over. As for talkgroups, that’s above my pay grade:

Set up a P25 Standard trunked system with the following frequencies in the site:
46B3 (3)005 (5)Athens/Limestone CountyLimestone772.20625772.45625772.88125773.43125773.73125774.70625
You only need to enter the 4 red control channel capable frequencies. Set the system to ID Search. There are no talkgroups listed in the database yet for Limestone County on the AIRS statewide trunked system.

I have tried your suggestion. I entered the frequencies with Free Scan and manually. Neither has worked. It must be my scanner settings. I thought it was a simulcast issue but I just drove within the shadow of the tower in Athens and it still didnt work. The squelch level is set on 2.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

If you get a Nothing to Scan message, you may need to enter a dummy talkgroup. Enter a talkgoup with a TGID of 8888 and leave the system in ID Search. Using FreeSCAN, system type and site type are both P25 Standard (Digital XT).

Here is a FreeSCAN file for you to try. The PDF file will answer all of your questions about using quick keys once you get familiar with programming. Save the attached zipped file to your computer and extract. Open the extracted file with FreeSCAN. Go to the Scanner tab and click on Upload Programming. Select Erase All Systems and Settings. Click on Start Upload.

Thank You for the zip file. I put it in my scanner with no problems. It's been on for over four hours and it's not received a single transmission.
I have it on ID Search, like you suggested. It looks like it wants to receive something on 772.2062 every so often. The signal meter will flash in the 3 or 4 bar range.
The volume is set on 10 and the squelch I have tried on 2 and 0 and still nothing.
Ive used this radio for the past 10 months and it receives from two near by counties with no problems except Madison County has simulcast and it's a little spotty over there.
Do you have any more suggestions I can try?
Thanks

It looks like the Limestone County site is simulcast. The 2 subsites in Athens and Lester both use the same frequencies. You should see the control channel frequency when no transmissions are being received. If you see NFM, you are having a problem decoding the control channel. That is a symptom of simulcast distortion. Try turning on the attenuator for the site and pointing the antenna in various directions. You can also try moving the scanner around the room. You may find a sweet spot.

uniden radios have a decode adjustment.
P25 audio decode level adjustment - The RadioReference Wiki.

if ur id searching u need to have control channel mode on in search settings .
look in main settings and see if u have set c-ch output if its off set to extended .
could also be a issue with the stock antenna to . as for the squelch if your only going to use it on trunking set it to 0 . if u have any analog channels. your going to have to set it higher.

You can also try a paper clip or the center conductor from a piece of tv coax. directly in the antenna jack .
for simulcast systems less signal can be your friend in my exper on a multi simulcast system.

Thanks for all your help. I found out last night that Athens & Limestone county is encrypted. The county volunteer fire departments are not yet but will be sometime next year.
