I didn’t hear anything from the Athens County Engineer / Highway Department during the snow events earlier this month. Does anyone know if they are still using 151.2575 MHz?

I’ve also not heard the Jackson County Engineer / Highway Department on 453.375 MHz in quite some time. I periodically hear a strong digital signal on this frequency (not sure what it is as I have no DMR/NXDN-capable scanner at present), but the database still shows them on FM. Can anyone shed light on this one?

Neither entity has a MARCS talkgroup listed in the database as far as I can tell.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Jackson County did a huge push to MotoTrbo a few years ago dumping almost all their analog equipment. They reused 453.375 MHz for the County Engineer main frequency using MotoTrbo and also licensed 453.775 MHz for a low power "shop frequency" at their Clary Road office and road maintenance depot.

I'll check on Athens County and let you know.

If you have color code and talk group information for any of that DMR stuff, could you submit it please?

Thanks

I'll try to get that. I don't have the ability to monitor MotoTrbo but I know the guy who decommissioned all the analog stuff.

Looks like the Athens County Engineer is on MARCS, check page 2 on their 2022 annual report

Yes, they are. Got that confirmed this morning.
I'm guessing their VHF system (and a nice one, at that) was abandoned in place.

On Jackson County, it looks like most or all of the MotoTrbo system that was shared by EMS and Fire was given to the County Engineer.
EMS and Fire is on MARCS except for analog alerting on 453.3125 MHz (EMS) and 453.625 MHz (Fire).
The 453.375 MHz County Engineer repeater is now part of the MotoTrbo system.

Still waiting on color codes and other technical data.
