Hey remember when you were trying to determin what Hancock County Sheriff's was using? And we thought it might of been 155.8800?

Well I confirmed tonight that they're still using low band..

45.1800 Dispatch
45.3000 Units

I was driving around Waveland/Bay St. Louis and parked it right out in front of the SO and sat there and listened to them for an hour. Sad.. I had hoped they were using VHF at least I could of listened to them while mobile. But they're on 45mHz still.

That will take some time for me to aqquire. The radio I used to intercept them with was a Yupiteru MVT-7100 and ctcss isn't an option on there. I wish my FT-8900 would go down into the 40mhz band. It will transmit in the 6 meter band but won't receive anything outside of the amateur limits.

When I get my BC-396T I'll be able to do that for you. The only way right now would be to pull my 785d off the server and take it mobile. If I ever have a reason to do that again I'll go scan for it there.

Unfortunately Hancock County is just too far to pick up on this 800mhz antenna.

And I hope they do too. VHF would be the best way to go. Pearl River County right above them is vhf and I hear them all the time driving around Biloxi. The only one I haven't found yet either is George County which is the county directly above Jackson County. I see their cars have vhf 5/8 wave antennas on them too. Haven't found them yet though.
