Audio cables

Hi,

What is your recommended audio cable to be used between the scanner recording output line (mine is BCT15X) to your streaming server?
i'm planning to use a raspberry pi to stream out. so, is there any sound card you recommend that would not introduce noise? i'm aware tho about the 5$ USB sound stick, but i understand it will great so much noise.


Looking for some good quality, yet not a music production equipment

I've never found USB audio sticks to be noisy. Scanner audio isn't exactly high fidelity, so the audio device isn't that critical.

Yep, they work fine. Mine were bought when they were only a buck each!
I've used up to six at one time with no noise issues. When I have had noise issues, it was always a ground loop hum from the grounds of the devices being at different levels. Using ground loop isolators always fixed that problem 100%.

Make sure the audio cable is shielded. Most of the common cables are not shielded because they are typically used for speaker cables. When used as recording cables and they're not shielded they will often pick up 60Hz AC hum.

I use the following audio cables for my BCT15X feed using the REC Line Out. They work very well and have no hum/noise:

Also, if you get a buzz or a hum in your feed, a ground loop isolator can help.
