Hello,

Still in the very basic learning stage with ProScan.
Nothing advanced now, just some really basic "stuff".

Pulled up the Audio page with all the options.
Much more than I need right now.

But, would like to be able to take the audio from the SDS 200, and use ProScan to adjust
the volume, etc., and send to external speakers hooked up to my W10 pc.

Can this be done via the micro USB Port connection that I am now using ? Or, must it (only) be via LAN ?

Or, a line from the speaker output jack into the Line In on the pc ? Or,...?

If possible, how please ?

Thanks,
Bob

Check the user manual for Proscan…… scroll down to the section "Audio Setup".

The Micro USB doesn't carry audio. Use the speaker out jack or the LAN connection. Audio on the LAN is the best quality because no copper connections that can introduce AC hum caused by ground loops, over driving the sound card, intermittent connections, noise pickup, etc.

The very basic steps to get the scanner audio out of the computer speakers are:
1. In ProScan, go to the Audio Control tab then select Recorder, Source Client, Web Server, or RSOIP. Note that you don't actually need to use any of the services as long as one is selected.
2. If using the LAN then set the Input Sound Device to URL.
3. If set to URL then click the URL Setup button and input the scanner IP address. Assuming you already configured the scanner LAN Settings.
4. Once you have audio into ProScan indicated by the level meters movement then go to the Monitor & Test tab then select the same service you selected in Step 1 then click the Loopback checkbox.

Hi Bob,
Did you ever get the audio working from the SDS200 to the computer speakers?

Hi, all. I'm in the same boat as Bob. I'm running ProScan 15.4 controlling a Bearcat BC785D. In ProScan's reply, step 1 says to go to the Audio Control Tab. I don't have that tab anywhere that I can find. Obviously, I'm not looking in the right place. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you see it now?

Yes, thank you. A definite "V-8" moment.

I just can't get the results that I want. Here's what I have, in hopes that someone can point me in the right direction:

BC785D scanner connected to a Windows 7 PC via Com1 as well as an audio cable from "Ext. Speaker" on the scanner to Mic input on the PC.

Proscan 15.4 running on the W/7 PC

Remote Desktop (RDP) into the W/7 PC from another machine.

I can fully control the scanner via Proscan from the computer I'm working from.

I can't get any audio from the scanner to be played on the computer I'm on. However, I can get all Windows system sounds to be played on the computer I'm on.

I've tried both Mic inputs on the W/7 PC (front and back). Same results (none) on either Mic connection.

I hope this is enough information. If not, please let me know. I've tried both RDP as well as TeamViewer but same results.

Do you have one of the audio services (Recorder, Source Client, Web Server, or RSOIP) Input Sound Device set? You don't need to actually use any of them. It's just to get the audio out of the computer speakers.
Do you see the audio meters move? If you want audio to playback in the computer speakers, go to the Monitor & Test tab then select the same audio service then check the loopback box.

Are you talking about getting the audio to playback on the computer hooked up to the scanner or on another computer connected via RDP or TeamViewer?

Trying to get it to playback on the remote computer via RDP or TV.

Host = W/7 computer that the scanner is physically attached to.
Remote = the computer that I am accessing the host via RDP or TV

The audio meters don't move. Also, under "Monitor and Test" I have "Check input sound device" in red under "Capture Audio Device".

Troubleshoot that. I'm not sure on Win 7 if the Win Mixer shows meters. If it does then see if you see the meters move in the Win Mixer. Also insure the Win Mixer input using is enabled and the level controls are up. Check the audio cable and audio is leaving the scanner.

Then make sure in the Monitor & Test tab that the same audio service is selected.
So, I'm making some headway. First of all, the Mic input can't be used in RDP. I'm able to now get something in TeamViewer after messing with Mic properties from with the Windows Mixer. After putting squelch all the way up I can't get the hiss through my speaker on the remote PC via TV. If I then quit TV and start RDP, I can't get the audio. And, in fact, Mic properties aren't even available. Go back to TV, and the audio is there again.
