AURORA - Police say a woman was killed on Saturday when she crashed her vehicle into a small creek in a park.
Aurora Police were dispatched to East Dartmouth Avenue and South Laredo Street at 5:26 p.m. on a report of a single-car crash.
When they arrived, they found a 58-year-old woman unconscious and not breathing in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that had come to rest straddling a small creek in Meadowood Park.
Officers began administering CPR until the Aurora Fire Rescue arrived and rushed the woman to The Medical Center of Aurora.
The woman was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Investigators say it appears the woman drove out of the Meadowood Recreation Center parking lot on the north side of East Dartmouth Avenue, then headed south, went over the curb and into Meadowood Park for about 300 feet before driving into the creek.
