As previously posted - auto locate is completely worthless.
Forget about it - (best), get the above GPS, (2nd best) manually enter your lat/long, or use zip code.
It's very unreliable. It attempts to listen to systems around you and match them up with information it has in the database to create commonalities to determine a location. It doesn't do a very good job at all with that process. You must just be lucky enough to have exactly what it wants to see.Weird, it's always worked when I tried it, guess results must vary according to your location.
My default procedure is to enter my geographical coordinates.
I actually live close enough to a site that it picks up my location (without using my gps) pretty well. It just pulls in more that I really want or need to hear sometimes. It's very unreliable. Plus, it's a waste of time. It's quicker to enter the zip code then to let that feature sit there and compare. I tried it one time and it took 7 minutes to tell me I was in Miami Florida. It's very unreliable. What is your range set for? When I am only looking for very close to me, I set it to 0.5 miles. It just pulls in more that I really want or need to hear sometimes.
It was set for 0.5 miles as well. I just had too many services turned on at the time. I know, I know. Give me a little break. I'm just getting use to these things.Plus, it's a waste of time. I might be wrong but I don't see anything in the area (other than schools, utilities, universities, etc.) that is on DMR or NXDN. Someone with more knowledge of your area might chime.I live in Cranston Rhode Island 02910 and was wondering if provoice dmr nxdn or other upgrades would be of any benefit.
I have a sds100.
ProVoice is a digital function on EDACS systems. It is no longer supported by the manufacturer, and agencies, as well as companies, using it are mostly migrating to other system types, such as P25 or DMR. You have no EDACS systems in your state. Closest EDACS/ProVoice system to you is the bay authority in the Boston area. Well out of range. That upgrade would be a waste of money.I live in Cranston Rhode Island 02910 and was wondering if provoice dmr nxdn or other upgrades would be of any benefit.
