I have been away from the hobby since around the time of the Olympics. I still have always wanted to get back into it. I finally have bought a new scanner, A Radio Shack PRO-97 it is a really nice unit from what I have done so far. Even though I havent been able to scan in the last few years I still have tried to keep up with the local radio scene. In starting to program my new baby I have found a few questions.....
1. I started off with UCAN since that is the primary service in Utah. After gettingmost the TGIN's that I wanted to start with I started open scanning the Salt Lake UCAN network from listening I found this question.... Has Salt Lake City started to retransmit its system on UCAN, I think I have heard a few of the TGIN's that match for SLC Police and Fire. If so that would eleminate adding another bank just for the SLC system.
2. I have programed trunking systems in the past but the seem to be growing, and getting more complicated. What ways have any of you used to organize your systems by Bank, TGIN's, etc.?
3. Does anyone know any good software, i.e. database, excel. That I could use for logging various events that I monitor.
Well thats all at the moment, I am sure that I will be getting more involved now that I once again have my ears on.
