Hey guys, just a basic question in if there is a simple way to reduce background noise on my feed. Here is what I’m running:
Whister TRX-1 with about 50’ of RG6 cable to a Centerfire folded dipole antenna with a 300 to 75 ohm transistor. Reception is very good. But when there is nothing being received, there is just constant background static. It’s not too bad, but definitely noticeable.
I listen to other feeds on Broadcastify where the noise is much worse, and others where there is almost no noise at all even at high volume until a transmission is received.
Just curious if there is anything that can be put in-line to reduce background noise. Thanks!
