TRX-1: Backlight

I have my TRX-1 connnected to the PC USB port and the TRX-1 backlight stay on all the time until I disconnect the scanner from the PC. Is this normal and how do I turn the backlight off?

The "simplified" manual explain its fairly well. You want the settings for external power.

In EZ Scan on General Settings tab (center on the left) you can change back light for battery or power operations.
