What do Balch Springs fire dept. operate on? I'm not able too fine it
Fire dispatch is 854.6375 , NAC 057.
Also simulcast on the old Vhf frequency, 154.400, PL 151.4.
These are listed on the Dallas County database page.

You might be able to hear them if you are up here in Dallas County, or western Kaufman County, but it's unlikely you could hear them from Canton.

Thank you for the up dated info. I had 854.5125 and 854.53750 programmed. Scanner got switched to the wrong channel. Everything is good now.

I live in Eastern Kaufman County and have never heard them on 154.400.

I was in Mesquite today for about 4 hours and had Balch Springs on my SDS100 and KNG radio. Both were silent the entire time. They both worked in the past. So anybody have any info on any changes that may have happened?
Im back home in old east dallas and about to set the scanner in search mode on the freqs to see if anything pops on vs what i have had programmed in it..

I'm not hearing them from Oak Cliff either. Even though my SDS200 is on a yagi, pointed east-southeast, I'm not hearing activity, and when using the 'Analyze' mode, I don't see even the remotest hint of a control channel. Either it's not in use, or they are using such low power, focused heavily on their city.

Hope you have better luck with it than I've had. I've had it programmed for quite some time, with no activity being logged on ProScan.

The probably would have been better served if they moved on GMRS, since the cities on their borders (except for Dallas) use that system.

Looks like a single site on top of a 120’ foot water tower. So I wouldn’t expect too much range out of it.
I just took a quick look at the license on the FCC site.

This past September, they added three more frequencies to their license that are not on the site in the database.
The ones added were:
858.0625
857.075
and 860.375.

I added those three to the list in my SDS200, & downloaded to the scanner.
So far, still nothing coming up in Analyze. No signal, quality, or activity.

If I can somehow receive it, I'll see if I can confirm those three additional frequencies were added to the site, & if so, submit the change.

It might be worth putting the frequencies in as analog conventional, just to see if you can hear any digital noise. Hopefully, it's not an encrypted control channel or some other barrier.

A few weeks ago I was able to receive them on their trunked system on a handheld in Sachse just fine, not sure if anything has changed since then but it was all in the clear at the time.

@hiegtx From my Old East Dallas apt (about a mile or so from Baylor) I am able to get them on my G4 and intermittently on my SDS100.
Picked up 5701 PD Disp
5711, 5712 and 5721all had traffic, these three are carrying FD/EMS traffic. But i need to monitor more to try to get confirmation of them for sure.

Thanks Patrick.

I’m not getting anything at all from here, but at least your Unication confirms that the system is active. One thing that hurts my reception is that I don’t currently have an external antenna. The one I had was attacked by tree limbs during some high winds. The directional antenna I have is inside on top of a door.

From more listening last night 5711 seems to be station dispatch. 5712 seems to be the FD response channels. Sort of like how Dallas uses Station dispatch channel and Ch 1 is their apparatus channel.
5721 I hear a few careflite comms and one mention of terrell. But i was also trying to watch a movie so had it turned down. But this makes sense as CF in general uses megaherts Connect Plus DMR system. So the CF units that are assigned to Balch Springs and Terrell would be able to use something other that the DMR system to communicate. And since BS and Terrell are on P25 trunking systems it would be logical to CF Comms to also have TG on those respective trunking systems and not use the DMR system.
Unfortunately at my office in SE Collin County I am no longer able to hear Balch Springs. When they were Conventional P25 i could. But with the new Trunking system I can no longer pick them up. So im limited to nights and weekends to monitor BS.
