Actually, watching the Plasma 'flame throwers' and the 'apparition' they captured was remarkably realistic.
I have seen- been a witness (victim ;)) to a similar scenario-

I got to go inside and become part of the flying lightning bolts of a Tesla discharge cage.
They told me it was harmless; like Yeah ! (as I became the "Corona Girl".... and nothing like the beer)--

.................those Ghostbusters sure captured all that fun and excitement !

I saw ball lightning only once. During a thunderstorm, in an empty field of the cul-de-sac I lived at, about the size of a beach ball with a similar motion out in the weather, were several of these balls of what appeared as lightning or some related electrical discharge. They each lasted several seconds.

A neat subject, isn't it ?

The problem is, no one knows much about Ball lightning- and theories about just what it is abound everywhere.
I kind'a wished I had never got into this; for I now have more questions than when I first posted the topic.

I didn't know anything about Ball lighting until I asked Cinderella!

No, I had never heard of it...or witnessed it. Now I'm curious. But before I use my microwave.....maybe I'll use the one at work.

Hey Guys :)

Find this a fascinating topic, No ?
And all the varying personal encounters just re-enforces that no one really knows just what Ball Lightning is.
It seems that the more scientific the quest, the more discouraging the results--
........for instance

Ball lightning doesn't occurs on mountain peaks, on tall buildings or the other myriad of places that attract lightning- those sites used by research'rs to study atmospheric phenomenon like lightning.

A prominent researcher Karl Berger** spent his life measuring hundreds of thousands of lightning hits his laboratory atop of Mount Salvatore, Italy, .........He never saw a ball of lightning.
His inability to observe it in such a setting led him in his frustration - and his skepticism -- to question this "phenomenon."

Ahh !...... but as you guys bear it out- it exists ! :)

I wasn't poking fun at it. I should have used a ;) emoji!

I think it is very interesting! Will be doing some research when I get a chance.

I knew you were being light heart'ed, Jim... smiles

It took me a moment, but I made the clever Cinderella/Ball connection... (grins :) )

There are reports of ball lightning inside buildings an even aircraft. What did your wife witness?

While at work one evening she walked out of a room to see a floating white ball of light moving down a hallway. It actually floated around a corner to another hallway and flashed out with a loud bang, like a flash bulb. She was the charge nurse at the time and immediately called the fire dept. The only thing that remained for a few minutes was the smell of electricity, as she described it (ozone). The fire dept. was less than a half mile away. The fire dept. couldn't find anything but did detect a slight odor of ozone. Needless to say, it scared the daylights out of her and the staff. She wasn't the only one to see it either.
