So Far Away....
Hey all RR cohorts..

Im looking for a chart that denotes bandwidth setting from pretty much DC(about 2000khz) to say 1.2GHZ

HF,.VHF,UHF..having trouble fine tuning/cutting the fringe noise..Need at least a start point..

Thank all in advance..

Bandwidth is dependent on the emission desired. Generally, the narrower you select, the less of an aperture you have for adjacent stations and noise. P25 can be 8.1 kHz, analog FM can be 12.5 kHz, AM can be 6 kHz, SSB can be 2.8 or 3 kHz, etc. See the emission designator page in the RR Wiki for the bandwidth numbers in the prefix. To add to that, the first three digits and alphabetical character are the emission bandwidths.

The characters are H, K, M, and G, which stand for Hertz, Kilohertz, Megahertz, and Gigahertz. The place where it is inserted is where the decimal point goes.

4K00 is 4 kHz
8K30 is 8.3 kHz
11K2 is 11.2 kHz
6M00 is 6 MHz

and so on.

The other letters and numbers are indicative of modulation type and use.

(I probably should add that to the wiki at some point; thought it was there...).
