I am a new owner of a Uniden BC125AT scanner and the one thing that annoys me is the lack of any bank names being displayed. It seems that displaying the bank numbers only is so 1980's.

I know that there is no provision of entering the names in the Uniden software, but really .. it is a simple thing.

So, what are your thoughts ? I have a 325P2 and really miss the display of the bank names on the screen as it is scanning. I do get that on that scanner it is the system name that we are seeing rather than a bank name.

Bank names

While the 125 is a decent analog scanner, it is definitely old school. That is my biggest gripe, and the latest build apparently doesn't address this, although is does have a virtual control beta included.

Newer model scanners ditch the bank concept and use favorite lists, which can be named and are not limited to an arbitrary number of channels. If that sort of thing is important to you, get a 436.

In Scan125 you can Tag Name the banks which people find useful but it is confined to the Scan125 program only.

I just really love the display on the 325P2 better than the 125AT, as the inclusion of the bank names would be useful and help when toggling on / off the banks.

I find that the display of the channel and frequency is of limited use. Maybe an option of displaying the data like the 325P2 would be welcome. An option under settings for display mode 1 (current mode of bank with number, channel number and frequency) / mode 2 (bank name, alpha tag) would work.
