Just unlocked that side of the lake. It is definately open static as of 6:50p.m. Sounds more like a stuck repeater than an open carrier though. I'll listen for a while and see if comms are being done on T2.
Good news is it isn't your radio
Update: It seems whatever is causing this noise is not hampering regular operations. The "static" stops shortly before a transmission begins and starts back again soon after. I almost wonder if this is some sort of digital data carrier that has been added to the system?

Hey all,
In the event that nobody has had the opportunity to be listening today, I hear that Barrie fire tac1 has returned to normal but there has been a bunch of testing going on with Barrie police on tac2...Judging from the sound if it, they're testing out GPS and in the process of working out the bugs. Have no idea if this activity is related to what was going on with fire or not but it's made for some interesting listening.
