Basic Tone Alert question

New G5 owner. Putting in a conventional channel that needs to be tone alert. I don't see where to define the actual tones needed, or where to assign that protocol to the desired channel. I have the Mot protocol selected. that's a start....

You have to set up tones and individual stations/agencies to be alerted in tab E6-1



After you get tones set up for your stations/agencies, click on TGID Grouping List (E6-2), add the 2-tone protocol, and then check the boxes to add groups to the list.



Now go to E7 and add your channel. Here is where you set up frequency, protocol, and CTCSS.



After that, scroll down and add the groups that need to be alerted.

I have figured out what you posted for the OP, but what setting causes the receiver to mute until the tones are received

For analog, or P25?

Analog would need to have the knob position be set to "Selective Call". P25 would need to have the binding feature set to "Sub-Group Feature", after the TGID's have been set up to alert.

I did. I also got 2 tone working on P25 trunking. Thank you!
