Main Road? Looks like one of the MOT repeater frequencies.

Enderby & Armstrong EMS(possibly Vernon too) is actually the same repeater, It is located on Silver Star Mtn.

For the record in BC the Ambulance service is called BCEHS, BC Emerg Health Services funded by Prov Gov. we call them EHS, or BC Ambulance, there are common freqs used exclusively through the Province including the ones you have listed. They are all linked through 4 dispatch centres.

Growing up we called them BCAS...

I know of 3 dispatch centers ( Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Kamloops) what is the 4th? I was on the understanding that BCEHS managed BCAS.

Added: think I found the answer to my question. it would be the Provincial Air Ambulance Coordination Centre

I am surprised I did not catch this earlier.

For ASVFD 189.9Hz is not a valid PL, could it be either 179.9Hz or 186.2Hz?

Regardless, I will be in the Okanagan for the long weekend, and will confirm a PL for ASVFD(Armstrong Spallumcheen Vollunteer Fire Department)

Thanks for your info ...
Please continue to monitor and let us know.

When I was out there ... we had a lightning strike 1/2 mile away and Armstrong FD responded ...
That is the PL that came up with the conversations.

Were you by chance using a scanner? If so was it set up for tone search?

Isnt that bizarre, I thought the whole system had been turned down, I know the old repeaters equipment are being re-used through out many of the mine sites in the North. Even Telus mobility has coverage up there I wonder if someone bought some surplus equipment and set up shop on that pair .

I thought so as well, but a TAFL search shows a whole bunch of the 152.xxxx Radiophone pairs still licensed to Telus.

No. This was heard on the 152.5700 Silver Star channel. This frequency pair is licensed to Telus, and I am about 10km straight line distance from the Silver Star site. I heard someone key up, and an operator come on and complete the call for the user. 100% confirmed this is an active, half duplex, Manual Radio Telephone site. The Autotel pair licensed on Silver Star is quiet. Autotel is gone. I think it was the same as Aurora in Alberta, but on VHF, on the in between pairs(152.4050 ect.) rather than UHF.
