Which AC to USB Adapter do you use? Any drawbacks?

Can you use it to power the scanner without any batteries installed or with the battery switch in the ALK position?

I'm still waiting for my BC125AT to arrive. The order was lost for a few days. I understand the USB female connection is a Mini USB? Can't seem to verify via Uniden's published info.

I use a DC adapter in my car and a wall plug-in at the house. They both came with other products I own, and I've used them for so long I have no idea now the sources.

You can use it to power the scanner w/no batteries.

It is a mini USB (not Micro).

Thank you for taking the time to answer my basic questions!

It looks like my old Motorola cell phone AC power supply (5V, 550mv), and DC car adapter should work fine.

There was a transmission count function included on the venerable Bearcat 300 that was very useful. As you may know, one could leave the scanner running for a length time and then check to see how many "hits" each channel incurred. It was a great way to evaluate new freqs. Is this a feature that is given any consideration for future scanners? I understand I may be approaching an area you cannot comment on.

I think most people do that with software now.

I am aware of some of the software solutions, all the way back to the Bill Cheek Pro 200x mod days. But, having to link the scanner to a computer for results is limiting if you use the scanner in various locations.

I agree, the software solution works for the majority of users, so there may not be a market for the simpler method.
