Ok Boys, I would be happy to do the beta testing. I live near Pensacola N.A.S., "The Home of the Blue Angels". LOL

You'll need help with that, I have the professional quality noise canceling headphones.

Send me a plane ticket, I'll camp in your backyard...

yes i realize the dynamic's of how many batteries vs. the size of the radio. thank you for pointing that out. but i seem to think that 3 batteries is a good compromise. let's face it, scanner's are basically toy's when it come's to radio's. i'd take a good grade commercial radio over a scanner. yes, i know all of the trade off''s including fq.coverage and price. i guess if you have to have a scanner,it's a question of which one is less "toyish". got to love em' though.

If you are going to put out a product, in this case a portable geared for the civil air band, Mil air band, then at least take a few pointers from those that are already established in this particular arena. Take this civil air band radio from Yaesu: Vertex VXA-300 Pilot III NAV-COM Transceiver - MyPilotStore.com
THIS is who you want to imitate if you want to make a serious product forair band monitoring. Notwithstanding the NAV and TX part of this radio, the rest of the features are right in line with the civil air band monitoring needs.

Your missing the point Bro...

It covers more than Civilian/Mil Bands, it includes Public Service bands, CTCSS/DCS decoding, and near field RF capture. Also AM/FM/NFM demod...

IMHO they need not imitate anything.Like i have said before if this particular model is not your cup of tea then so be it and buy something else. This is about the BC125AT and nothing else no Yaesu,Icom,Etc.And to be honest how do any of us know how it is going to preform until it is released?

Two Power Options - let you power the scanner using the included two AA rechargeable or alkaline batteries or the supplied USB cable.

.......no wall plug ?

I see it has a push button for power on/off. So the knob must be volume. Where's the squelch ? Or do you have to push down on the knob for either vol or squelch like the 396 ?

Probably going to emulate some of the hardware designs of the 346/396XT series...

Exactly Correct.Thank You

No I am NOT missing the point, you guys are! Uniden already has scanners that have CTCSS/DCS Public service bands, and nearfield RF capture. This seems to be geared for air band monitoring enthusiasts. I'm simply stating that if that IS the case, then maybe it could include some (not all) features that the pro-air portables have and not just simply features that other Uniden portables already have. THAT is my point Bro!

Adam, nobody is knocking this radio for it's performance, it hasn't even hit production yet! I'm only discussing features and / or specs as we know them so far! I personally like what I see so far. I would just like to see more features tailored for air band monitoring and not just simply including stuff that is already found on other scanners already in the Uniden line up!

ya' know, i sat around a few year's ago, when the bcd396xt was announced, and said it probably would not be any more sensitive than the bcd396t. i was wrong. so i'm truly not looking to bash a product that has not even been released yet. given the price <which i don't think will be too expensive> , and what i want to use it for, i'll most probably end up getting one. i don't alway's want to leave a $500.00 scanner, or expensive ham rig in the car. 50 ch's per bank seem's about right. i'd like to throw everything in my county in there. i'll have room left over for some mystery channel's. i am looking forward to the bc125at's release. it will be a late x-mas present.

I would imagine the features you would like from a Pro-Airband portable, would take the price point well out of the target market...

Nice Radio

I think this will be very useful to media outlets. They tend to like simple when it comes to IFB, this will also be great for the news chopper.

According to the owners manual and photos, it comes with a USB cable, instead of the ubiquitous serial cable Uniden usually ships. In fact, that sure does look like an end-to-end USB cable, not a proprietary connector on the scanner end. The owners manual even has it labeled "USB Port". How interesting. I guess they had no choice if they wanted to provide power for operation/charging via USB.
