• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

So I have a BC246T that is about a year and half old. Now lately, the Func button has become hard to push to get it engaged, and to get it to select. It does make a click sound, but does not "engage" into the func mode unless I push really hard on the button. Are there any other 246 users that are having similar problems? I am pretty sure that the radio is out of warranty, so ....

Is this a common repair? Is it a repair that I could do myself? Is it something I could just clean with some contact cleaner, or something similar?

I dont use the button much, because I pretty much listen to one section of the trunked system anyways, but I dont want it to get worse...

I've not experenced that problem, but I think if you opened the case and cleaned the contact or re-seated the rubber over the switch it may solve the problem, if you are ok with doing that sort of thing.
