Prerelease 3 should be available on Uniden's web site by the end of the day. Note the following items that have been updated since PR1:

The downloaded software has been updated to Prerelease 2. This version addresses the following issues:

o "LoadLibrary Function Error" during installation
o Files not appearing in the database windows
o "Index Out of Bounds" if no groups or channels are stored in a system

The downloaded software has been updated to Prerelease 3. This version addresses the following issues:

o Compatibility with some USB --> Serial adapters
o Visibility of some EDACS LCN's
o "LoadLibrary Function Error" during installation (improved compatibility over PR2)
o Persistence of Group Lockout in conventional systems

Is this software used to upload frequencies to the 246T? Just saw references to the 246T on here today, so not familiar with what it does.
Is it compatible with Windows98SE or is it XP only?

Supported with 98SE and later. Have reports of it operating on earlier versions of Windows, but not supported.

Lets you manage systems and configurations for your scanner (upload, download, and scanner control).

Free demo on the Uniden website.

It seems like I can't download the systems into my scanner. I made 2 conventional system and had already assigned them into System Files in configuration but when I clicked write to scanner, there are no systems selected.

Is this the problem with the software or ?

Thnx

If the software is not registered, you get a popup explaining this limitation. If it is registered, I need more info.

Please carefully read the pop up:

RUNNING IN DEMO MODE.

Only systems named "Conventional", "Motorola", "EDACS", or "LTR" are written to the Scanner.
For upgrading to full-function software, please access http://scanner.uniden.com/

Continue writing to Scanner ?

It writes just fine - as long as your system is named one of the above.
