Hello everyone, I just wanted to say first off that I have been viewing the conversations in this forum for quite some time now. I enjoyed them so much that I decided to register. Ok, that said I have a question for some of you more experienced scanner users. Is the BC248CLT a good desktop scanner. Nobody around here uses any of the digital stuff or the trunking systems. All the police and rescue services transmitt on frequencies in the 150's range. I really like the radio because it can access AM/FM band and has an alarm clock on it. Does the radio work well? Any information you guys can give would be greatly appreciated.

It should work fine for the frequency range you mentioned. The pice may come down on the 248 as it will soon be replaced by BC340CRS.
