I have just programmed Warrick County, IN LTR list into my scanner on bank 10, and all of the trunk frequencies are programmed in also, but I cannot get it to go into ID scan mode. It stays in frequency scan. Pressing and holding the trunk button makes it show "Ready to ID Scan" but it reverts to normal scanning. Both of the EDACS systesms I have programmed in work fine on ID scan, but this one doesn't.

HELP PLEASE! :)

Dumb question - did you enter any talkgroup IDs? No doubt that's what it is looking for, and not finding....73s Mike

It almost sounds like you have the talkgroups programmed into the wrong trunking bank. You should be able to do something to hold on that system when you're in that bank when it shows the 'Ready to ID Scan' message. If the screen blanks out, you know what your problem is. I'd check the manual to make sure. No doubt there's a section about programming your scan list IDs - otherwise I'm stumped...

Another way to debug this - if you are using ARC250 to do your programming, dump your file and let others look at it. They may be able to spot the error much more quickly that way.

A couple of things kinda stood out - you have the freqs in the right order OK, as shown here...

http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&sid=1902

but the talkgroup IDs starting in TD901 look all wrong. 2 things could account for this - entering the system type as a Motorola instead of LTR, or entering the IDs without the dashes- for example, '0-08-010' instead of '008010'. If the system type is set to LTR and the software is encoding this wrong (assuming the talkgroups were entered correctly), that's a BuTel issue.

Hope that's a help....73s Mike

Uniden's standard is to substitute periods for dashes - so entering 0.08.010 should result in 0-08-010. That works for EDACS systems, it should work for LTR 73s Mike

No, if I do that, it cuts me off and enters the wrong talk group. The format listed below tells me not to put anything in, no periods, no dashes, etc. And the scanner is picking up the EMS frequencies, and the dashes show up on the scanner. So I think the talk groups are entered correctly.
