I am thinking about getting the BC340crs scanner. Is this a good recieving scanner? I am mainly wanting to monitor the vhf & UHF bands.

Should be a good basic scanner as long as you don't want to listen to anything above 512mhz or any trunked systems.

This is actually a great scanner for the money. I bought one of these for my parents and they are very pleased with it. The reception and the sound are not too bad either. Also, you can program up to 100 channels into 10 banks.

The 370 version is great, so I'm sure the 340 will work out for you.
