Well they do make antennas that are tuned to specific bands.
Theres an 800mhz one which i have on one of my BCD436, the other has a UHF/VHF antenna.
The device is so wide band that they ship it with an antenna that is somewhat friendly to all bands.
Are you trying to improve a specific band or want a better all band antenna?

It depends on where you want to use it...at home or on the go?? I bought the srh77ca to use as a portable antenna instead of the duck. For like $23.95 on amazon prime I love it. I don't have any equipment to test it but I've been happy with it on the two handhelds I've used it on. Based on my initial research most agree its better than the duck, but I have no equipment to truly gauge that. Yet. Reviews for this antenna specifically mention the 436hp. If nothing else, mate, for $24 I feel it working better. (sigh)

Are you looking for an indoor or outdoor? I put a tri band on mine but recently bought a Diamond D220R. Wow, what a difference. It’s a mini discone I am using in my house. Bought a cheap floor lamp, gutted it, mounted it as high as I could to the ceiling. Plan to use it camping. Worth the money.
