I have a BC785D without digital card. They just rebanded the motorola type II system in my area. So I deleted it from the scanner and now scanning rebanded frequencies in conventional mode. Surprisingly good monitoring even though not trunking. I have a BCD996XT which trunks the rebanded system ok. Thinking of selling it and buying a buying a handheld BC346XT

For the past 8 years or so, I've been using mine for SF Bay Air Traffic control and for some strange reason, I can still listen to OPD on this scanner.

I have a BCD-396XT for the other stuff. I've noticed that the sensitivity on the 785 is better sometimes than the 396.

Anyone here besides me still using the BC785D? Just curious to see how other ones perform on conventional-but mainly I want to see if there's still some running out there.

Hi ridgescan- Yes, the BC785D is currently my main scanner. I bought it the week it came out with digital card and still working great. I have a new Home Patrol ordered and should have it this Thursday, but I have no plans on replacing the BC785D.
