I am new to scanning and I don't knpw what the lower knob on the left side does, it seems to do nothing on my scanner. Please help :evil:

Just what it says it does. It scrolls channels (and talkgroups) up and down and freqs up and down, depending on which mode its in. Push. If your doesn't work, and its under warranty, get it fixed.

It will also allow you to scroll through menu options and is handy when programming freq's and tg id's.

And, it allows you to select letters of the alphabet, numbers, and punctuation when you assign names to towers, talkgroups, etc.
