BC898T Opinions

Looking for opinions on the BC898T as a base scanner using it with software like ARC898.

Reception on various bands (using outdoor antenna)? Is it plagued with interference? etc.

Just curious.

The 898T is a GREAT radio. It is the manual that sucks! Had to look at page 46 & 47 on the BCT-8 for hidden options like CC only and which pl to use. Still cant find what option 4 is, but after playing with it awhile I found out how to use the other 7 options like EOT & S-bit which are also on page 46 & 47 od the BCT-8

My 898 is excellent as was my 895 i sold.I live near a hospital and it gives off intermod but i can still use a tri-band antenna on the tower with the 898 and its intermod free.Its sensitivity is very good especially on 800 and audio is good. It does PL/DPL instantly...The only problem as written in previous post is the crap manual.Because i own a 245xlt and had a 895 it is no problem programming....
