I recently got one of these scanners for my birthday, it is a big difference from the Realistic Pro 31 from 30 years ago! The band scope mode doesn't work like expected. From what I learned on a You tube video, I went to MENU, SEARCH FOR, SERVICE SEARCH, then selected PUBLIC SAFETY, then the scanner found an active frequency and I pressed HOLD. Then pressed FUNC, then pressed 3(sr3). On the video the scope mode started, in my case I get three quick beeps. I updated to firmware version 1.11.07. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but can't figure it out. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

Go to Menu.

Search for...

Scroll down to Set Search key.

Select a search key for band scope. 1 though 3.

Select band scope. So, say you want the band scope for search key 1.

Now scan and hold onto a frequency. Press Hold then Func and the search key you ASSIGNED to the band scope. In this case 1. Again, there are three search keys: 1 though 3. They are sr1, sr2 and sr3 in the Func mode.

You can also do what you did in the Public Safety band. Hold onto a frequency and press Fun then the search key you assigned as Band scope. In this case 1.

Example: Search key 1 (sr1) can be the band scope. Search key 2 (sr2) can be Mil Air, and search key 3 (sr3) could be Public safety. YOu can even use up to 10 custom search ranges for a search key.
