I am using Freescan (I have also Proscan and ARCXT) to program my BCD325P2. I've upgraded from the BCD396XT. Burlington County NJ (and Bucks County PA) are on P2 systems, thus my reason for upgrading. As a fire chief in Mercer County NJ, I'm fine with the P25 in the county, nothing though is on P2. I've tried a RR download of both Bucks and Burlington counties and nothing. I've downloaded a Bucks Freescan file from one of these threads and nothing. What is going on? Am I needing a BCD325P2 upgrade of DMR? Thanks. Doug

If you attach your programming files, I will check them for problems. You will need to right click on the files and Send to Compressed (zipped) folder to be able to attach them. Click on Attach files and Open the zipped folder. If you have ARC-XT files, I would prefer them. I also have FreeSCAN and ProScan.

See my reply to your same question about neighboring Bucks Co Phase 2 simulcast system and simulcast distortion using a non simulcast radio.

Here are 2 ARC-XT files for Burlington County in a zipped folder. One file is the trunked system with the North and South sites. The other file has the conventional frequencies. The separate attached PDF file will answer all of your questions about using quick keys. Save the attached zipped folder to your computer and extract. Open the 2 extracted RSF files with ARC-XT and Upload to Scanner. If you have receive problems, it will be due to simulcast distortion. Quick keys as follows:

Burlington Trunk
SYSTEM QUICK KEYS:
1. Burlington North (Site)
2. Burlington South (Site)
GROUP QUICK KEYS:
1. BurlCo Public Works
2. BurlCo Interop
3. BurlCo Emerg Ops
4. BurlCo Fire/EMS
5. Rowan Coll Burl
Burlington Conv
SYSTEM QUICK KEY:
3. Burlington Conv
GROUP QUICK KEYS:
1. BurlCo Pub Works
2. BurlCo Multi-Tac
3. BurlCo Fire/EMS
4. BurlCo Law
5. BurlCo Correctns
6. BurlCo Schools

When I was living in Burlington Twp, I had all the neighboring counties in my 996P2.
Funny thing, I couldn't get Bucks County, but could get Mercer Co really well, even though the signal had to cross through Croydon/Bristol & maybe Levittown.

I actually remember when the Mercer County Phase 1 simulcast system was introduced. Although there was some simulcast issues it wasn't the same as the Bucks County Phase 2 simulcast system that was introduced in 2015, my 436 and 536 we're pretty useless while moving around the lower end of Bucks County. Media type guys like myself ended up getting non-affiliated Motorola's.

We pretty much have two different threads going on the same topic, one in the Pennsylvania forum and one in the New Jersey forum.

I was up in BurlCo in August with a 325P2 and had no issues. You may want to see what your P25 Threshold setting is, I have mine at Level 7.

What menu is P25 Threshold in? I remember fiddling with this setting with the old smartzone system. All I can find now is P25 LP filter on both the 996P2 and 325P2.

I'm going with simulcast distortion. I have the same issue with a 325P2 on the Ocean County 700 P25 phase 2 system. At my house, I get nothing, if I go to a tower, I get most of the coms, I start driving around the system will come and go. If I drive out of the county, I will get it again for a little bit sometimes.

Skypilot007: Menu, Settings, It's below LP Filter. Do you have firmware version 1.08.01 on the 325?

You may or may not achieve desirable results using a Comet Miracle Baby antenna depending on where you are in relation to two or more simulcasting towers. The key to simulcast is to narrow the signal down to a single transmitting tower, though this might not always be possible. So the lesser or more directional the antenna, the better. Ultimately the only scanners designed to mitigate the effects of simulcast distortion are the Uniden SDS series scanners

Thanks for the helpful responses. Sorry, I've been offline for a couple days. Family sickness. I'm going to try the files today. Also, just as an FYI, I did replace the original 325 antenna and bought a Remtronix 842. Time will tell if there is a difference. Doug
