i sent a personal message with some barebones manual programming to get started and hear something.

I’d suggest one of the following:
1) get a computer
2) borrow a computer
3) get a new hobby

If you are programming more than ~20 conventional channels I’d forget about doing it by hand without a computer and software. Possible yes, but way too much of a headache.

Get a computer, invest in Proscan & a Radioreference Premium Subscription to utilize RR's web service. Believe me it will make programming much much easier than doing so by hand. Plenty of resources right here on the forums & lots of folks here willing to lend you a guiding hand. Welcome to the RR forums!

It is so much faster and easier using programming software than doing it manually with the scanner menus. You can also use Butel ARC-XT software to program your scanner. Both ARC-XT and ProScan have a free trial period to decide which one you like better. I use ARC-XT Basic to program my BCD325P2.
