With Conventional scanning, I can easily program quick-keys to the system name. What am I missing to be able to do this with Trunking? I have one system that has quite a few sites but I still want to assign quick-key to this system label, not sites. This works with my BCD396T.
What am I doing wrong?
Rob

This is the system that I am trying to set up;

Trunking is different. QKs are by 'site' not 'system'. You can program multiple 'sites' to a single QK.

Do you program using Freescan? Freescan had an option to select QKs by system instead of site.

I am using ArcXT. I will try Freescan again to see this. I cannot find Freescan's website

I use ARC-XT also. The BCD396T can have the quick key assigned to the system because a trunked system can use only a single site on that scanner. That is why quick keys are assigned at the site level for other scanners. If you want to enable and disable multiple sites at the same time using a BCD325P2, just assign the same quick key to each of the sites. Here is a PDF file that will answer all of your questions about using quick keys:

Quick keys do not need to be assigned to sites and they will come on with the system.

Using ARC-XT, system quick keys are assigned at the site level. FreeSCAN allows assigning system quick keys at the system or site level. ARC396 for the BCD396T assigns the system quick key to the system since the 396T can use only a single site per system.
