Nuts...I got the structure built that I need.....it's scanning...not receiving tho.
There's 1 system, 3 groups...I have GQK's setup, but I can't seem to add group 3 to the list of groups being scanned, and I can't remove group 0.

Kill the Proscan connection, restart the scanner and then try the updater.
Tried that. It says to install the virtual serial driver. Is that something that needs to be done in addition to the driver necessary for ProScan?

What version of windows? Try rebooting windows, then connect scanner and see if windows sets up the usb port. If not try a different port.

TY SIR!

What's the trick with this firmware update tool? If I manually select the com port, it tells me access denied. If I auto detect, it can't see the scanner. I have a connection with Pro Scan.

Also....can't enter trunk freqs with 5 numbers right of the decimal point?
Got the fw updated.

Is anyone willing to take a look at what I have so far? Simple P25 Trunk system with 3 sites and 2 channel groups.
The durn thing scans, but it sounds like crap...breaking up...I don't think it's scanning all the sites in the system, and I'd like to set it up so I can have it scan all sites, or only the one I want to scan.

The flippin' ProScan manual doesn't tell you anything about setting this thing up. : (

Exactly what system are you trying to scan? Away from home right now but will take a look when I get back home.

Till then maybe some else can look at your file.

simulcast,

the uniden SDS series are built for simulcast systems, you might have to go that route.
you might find a sweet spot for the radio.
read over the article as one might work.
down here my radios were horrible around my house, we bought a SDS100 and all is well.

Almost all of the sites on that system are simulcast and that scanner is not the best.

Took a look at your programming and it looks good. You do need to add Quick Keys to the MC East, MC South, and MC West towers so you can turn them on and off, till you figure out which tower you get the best reception on. (see pic below)

It is a simulcast site so as the other folks have indicated, the 325P2 wasn't designed for simulcast so reception is hit and miss and often distorted.

Here is a PDF file which will answer all of your questions about using quick keys. Print it out and save it for your reference.

Do I get around the simulast system limitation by having a single site with all the system control channels? Is it even possible to do that? Did you notice how the software truncates the last digit from the 700 meg channels?

So it's possible then that this is not the right device for trying to monitor such a system then?

There really is no way to get around Simulcast Distortion. You will need to purchase an SDS 100, 150, or 200.

Did you set quick keys for the towers? If not the scanner will not scan. You have quick keys set for the TGIDs but not the towers!

Got to get it scanning right, before tackling the simulcast issues.

Try this file, has quick keys set up for towers, and no quick keys for TGIDs for the time being. You don't need qk for tgids for now.

Each "site" in the system is made up of multiple towers that all transmit on the same frequencies at the same time. There is no way to listen to only one tower. As far as the frequencies go, a scanner's receiver isn't precise enough that it will matter if the last digit is truncated (or rounded).

I know a number of folks have already told you this, but I live in Monroe County, and I have had ZERO success monitoring the system with a BCD325P2 (or BCD996P2). I wish that wasn't the case since they are a lot cheaper than an SDS and great scanners ... except for simulcast.

Sorry to pile on with bad news. If you want to monitor the system with a scanner you'll need an SDS100, SDS150, or SDS200. There are other alternatives such as using SDR dongles and a PC or getting a Unication pager, but those aren't scanners.

There's still lots of analog traffic in our area, including analog Fire and EMS dispatch channels that are patched to the trunking system. (All of the surrounding counties have that too, or are still on analog.) You can also listen to air, rail, ham repeaters, etc. with the BCD325P2 if you decide to keep it.
