BCD396T and BCD996T Updates are Here

OK I must be missing something. Maybe a bad download?

Anyway, I've already downloaded and applied the ESN update. I have also gotten the BC_VUP_v.2.0.0.3 and BCD396T_v2_00_07 zip files. I've unzipped them and executed both. I got an Uniden folder set up under Program Files, but nothing in the BC_VUP folder.
What am I missing here?

Did you merely unzip the BC_VUP file, or let it extract & do the install routine?

If you did the install routine, but the folder is empty, then either your download was defective in some way, or the installer sidetracked itelf somehow.

In the BC_VUP folder (a sub-folder under Uniden, under Program files) there should be at least two items: BC_VUP.exe & BC_VUP.ini

Want me to:
a. Email you the file
or
b. email you (zipped or not zipped) the two files that should have been in the BC_VUP folder?
The BC_VUP.exe & BC_VUP.ini files may also be on your pc, just in the wrong place. Tried a search yet, to see if they are there? then drag them over to where they belong?

Help UPMan - Registration Key Not Working

I have a 996 that I bought a couple of months ago. I went to update the programming today and the registration code I was given by Uniden says there is an error with the code. I cannot program my scanner, as it will only run in demo mode.

I tried reinstalling the program and reinstalling/running the firmware update and still have the problem.

HELP??

This thread is about firmware updates. The registration key for the software (UASD) is not the same thing as the registration key for the firmware update. If this is about UASD, better to start a new thread (but I'll tell you now that the answer is to just go to the web site and request a key...). If this is about firmware updates, you need to register your scanner, including ESN and ESN checksum, then request a key on your "All My Scanners" page for the v2.x update.

Installed ECN update & now scanner is dead

Last nite I was in the process of installing the ESN firmware update onto my BCD396T. In the middle of the update, my computer locked up, I had to shut down, and now my laptop gets a blue error screen when I turn on.
Anyway, the real question is now I have attempted to re-install the ESN update from another computer this morning, and it shows as the update completed, & shows me a screen w/ ESN number 32826164058770 & checksum # 191. When I attempt to enter this info into the My scanners page to update the info, I get another page stating the 2 number do not match. Now I cannot power on my 396T to try to reterive these numbers directly from the scanner. However, the scanner will power up in transfer mode when I press L/O & 6 & insert AC power plug & I get the lighted blue blank screen, but cannot power up in a normal mode either w/ batteries and/or AC adapter.

I just checked and verified that the ESN/checksum pair you show above are valid. So, I suspect you typo'd when you entered the info into your account.

I have a scanner bcd 396 perfectly follows the digital channels to me of motorola but I have not been able to determine as they are the channels of control of edaccs somebody can help me.

EDACS channels must be placed in the correct logical channel order (LCN). The control channel is not important, all channels must be placed in the system for it to work.

Los canales de EDACS se deben poner en la orden correcta del canal lógico (LCN). El canal de control no es importante, todos los canales se debe colocar en el sistema para que trabaje.

CTL significa que él es canales de control. El número para cada uno indica su número de canal lógico (LCN).

Hi, I am trying to update my 396.. I have downloaded the ESN_Loader application, and followed every step precisely, but everytime I go to update it, my computer shuts down..

This happens everytime and its very annoying, any help?
